FASTT / experienced in the film industry - refined for the art market

FASTT was developed in response to demand in the art market for secure and transparent payment settlement for artists, while supporting galleries in efficiently managing high value transactions. Based on a service that he co-developed and provided in the international independent film industry for over 25 years, founder Maarten Melchior consulted with artists, advisors, and gallerists to refine FASTT to meet with the very specific needs of the art market. Jim Sternberg and his accountants provide the depth and the breadth that FASTT needs, to deliver its services artists and galleries.

Maarten Melchior

When Maarten was approached in 2020 to see if he could provide the revenue allocation service to the art market, he was excited. The opportunity to provide the service he loves, to another creative market!

At that moment he was working as revenue allocation service provider for Fintage House, ensuring that revenues from independent films such as Babel, Red Cliff, Rocketman and Promising Young Woman were promptly allocated as agreed between all parties involved. The existence of the business was the result of the key role he had played within the initial group in the nineties, when he co-developed and subsequently promoted the service worldwide.

Before embarking on film revenue allocation, he had worked as a film financier at Pierson, Heldring and Pierson, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and was involved in films such as The Crying Game and Naked Lunch, applying the skills he had previously developed as a loan officer for conventional businesses and ventures.

Maarten enjoys meeting and communicating with people to provide financial services and to find practical solutions that work for everyone involved, while his background assists him with developing an approach that is also robust from a legal perspective.

Jim Sternberg

Jim started Complete Production Solutions in 2009 to address the need of structured postproduction accounting in the Canadian film and television industry. The company has grown to be a trusted accounting source for numerous Canadian film and TV production companies along with US studios including Netflix, Amazon and Blumhouse.

Prior to starting Complete Production Solutions, he was president of completion guarantor Film Finances Canada. During 18 years as a completion guarantor, he was involved in guaranteeing the finalization of more than 300 productions with budgets ranging from under a million dollars to over $75 million.

Jim’s experience as a completion guarantor honed his problem-solving skills. In addition, he enjoys rolling up his sleeves to help solve any issues and likes nothing more than finding an innovative solution to a financing or production quandary.

Prior to becoming a completion guarantor Jim was a freelance production accountant, working on numerous film and television projects.
